BHS&M Speaker Series: Friends of Ohio Barns
The Bedford Historical Society & Museum welcomes Pam Grey from the Friends of Ohio Barns (FOB). Their mission is to support and promote, through education the awareness, an understanding of not only their maintenance requirements, but the significance of Ohio’s historic barns within an agricultural and architectural context. In addition the FOB works to encourage programs that provide resources for their stewardship and conservation as a lasting icon of our cultural heritage.
Ms. Grey will discuss how major growth and development in our state, coupled with changes in agricultural practices and downsizing of family farms threaten the future of our historic farm buildings and rural landscape. MS. Grey will speak about the Friends of Ohio Barns and its work to help find solutions for farmers, barn owners, and barn lovers who believe in the stewardship of Ohio’s barns.
The BHS&M Spring Speaker Series is scheduled for the first Thursday of the month in March and May. This spring these entertaining and educational talks will be held in Walton Hills. The lectures are FREE to the public. Please plan to join us for these entertaining nd educational talks.
