AFTERNOON TEA with EMILY
Emily Thompson is hosting an afternoon tea with her mother and grandmother. They have planned an afternoon to meet some of the children in town and talk about life in Bedford in the 1870’s and your invited!
Come join Emily Thompson, age 11, for an authentic 1876 afternoon children’s tea at the Dunham House on Saturday, June 25 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. This 2-hour educational and interactive program is for children 8 to 12 years old. Participants can expect a sampling of appropriate foods and historical interpretation, along with a selection of period pastimes that will prove to be fun for all! The cost is $30 per child. Reservations required as space is limited.
Children will make an autograph book and discover how they were used. Learn about etiquette; listen to poetry and stories; visit Emily’s room and see her toys. Play popular parlor games; and be served a delicious Afternoon Tea!
Participants must be dropped off at the Town Hall Museum at 1:45 PM and will be escorted to the Dunham House by our education staff.
