Bedford Historical Society & Museum Autumn Speaker Series

Join us Thursday, November 4 at 7:00 PM in the Community Center of the Old Church on the Commons to hear Jeanne Sapir discuss the women’s suffrage movement in America. Come along as we travel down the long and rocky road to the ratification of the 19th Amendment granting women their Constitutional right to vote. There was controversy, some darker moments, dirty politics, politicians of all stripes and through it all, dedication and persistence of remarkable and ordinary women. The focus will be on the last state to ratify, Tennessee, quite the wild ride!

The BHS&M Autumn Speaker Series is scheduled for the first Thursday of the month in September through November. The autumn talks will be held in Bedford, OH in the Community Center of the Old Church on the Commons. The lectures are FREE to the public. Please plan to join us for these entertaining and educational talks.
