Elmer Flick Day

ELMER FLICK DAY

Working in conjunction with the City of Bedford, the Recreation Department at Ellenwood, and the Bedford Rotary Club, the Bedford Historical Society is looking forward to developing what we hope will be an annual summertime event for Bedford and a new fundraiser for the Historical Society. Although details are still being worked out, plans to honor Bedford’s own Baseball Hall of Famer Elmer Flick with a weekend event. Program elements include a youth softball tournament and a vintage baseball game between the Whiskey Island Shamrocks and the Canal Fulton Mules.

Radio personality, Ed “Flash” Ferenc will be on hand to interview baseball great, Bob DiBiasio. Baseball authors, Joe Powers, Scott Longert, Morris Eckhouse, and Vince Guerrerri will be available to sign their books which will be on sale. In addition, other baseball personalities will be available, including everybody is favorite…Slider!

Families will also enjoy movies on the City Commons as well as vendors, food trucks, refreshments, and children’s activities. In addition, the Baseball Heritage Museum will have items from their collection to exhibit. For more information call 440-232-0796 or museum@BedfordOhioHisory.org.
