President – Board of Trustees

Overview
The president resides over the Board of Trustee meetings and sets direction of the society with the other trustees.
Responsibilities
- Governance responsibility for setting the board meeting agenda in compliance with the bylaws
- Strategic Planning and setting annual objectives with Subcommittee Chairpersons and the Museum Director
- Legal Signatory on legal documents, contracts, and checks
- Annual Budget oversight and compliance as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
- Spokesperson for the official “face” of the Society
- Membership and Donor recruitment and relations.
- Preservation liaison with the Bedford Historical Preservation Board
Experience
- Member of the Board of Trustees
- Ability to govern and understand the Society’s bylaws and operational history
- Experience interacting with municipal governments, heritage commissions, and community partners to advocate for historical preservation and institutional growth
- Ability to mediate diverse viewpoints among Board members and stakeholders to maintain a unified organizational direction
