Event Overview
How appropriate that the Bedford Historical Society’s signature event of the year—the Historic June Strawberry Festival—perfectly intersected with the golden age of Cleveland television to the delight of festivalgoers. Just days after being honored by Fox8 TV for his contributions to the beloved comedy team of Big Chuck and Lil’ John, John Rinaldi joined retired Fox8 News Anchor Tim Taylor for a special book signing, photo & autograph event that attracted fans from across the region.
The Historical Society is deeply grateful to John and Tim, a BHS board member, for donating all proceeds from John’s book sales and the duo’s collective autograph proceeds to the Society’s fundraising campaign to restore the historic windows damaged in this year’s devastating ice storm.
The day was filled with laughter, behind-the-scenes stories and a steady stream of photos and autographs, creating lasting memories for visitors of all ages.
Special thanks to Board President Sandy Spinks, who cheerfully found herself serving as the event’s photographer, and to the many talented Bedford artists, young and old, whose beautiful artwork transformed the shattered windows of both the Historical Society and the neighboring church into inspiring symbols of hope and resilience.
It was a memorable day that once again demonstrated that our community motto, “Believe in Bedford…A Wonderful Place to Live” is far more than a slogan. It is a reflection of the generosity, spirit, and pride that continue to define Bedford.
