A Glimpse into the Life of a Female Teacher
Bedford High School 1927-1940
Ruth’s adult children share a part of the collections of their mother, who taught at Bedford High School, 1927 to 1940. Collection includes her teaching contracts, letters from the Superintendent, memories, photos, and insights from her personal record books and diaries. The period includes the “roaring 20’s”, “the great depression”, “contract stating that female teachers could not marry”.
